James:
I bought a set of MGB seat belts and installed them in My TIGER but
thankfully have never had to put them to the test. They fit well and are
comfortable to use.
I used the anchor point on the rear fender well to bolt a 1 X 6 X 1/4 steel
plate to. The belt retractor bolts to this plate and hangs down below the
anchor point. The anchor point has the belt-guide-ring-bolt through it. The
other end of the belt bolts to the seat belt mount at the bottom of the
door sill.
I used a pair of Saab belt retainers in the center of the car. These are
the type that the belt goes under a flip-up bar and you do not need to use
original metal buckle that is on the belt. These work really well as there
is not buckle flying around as the belt retracts. This is optional as you
can use the center buckles that came with the MGB belts.
I know this is rather rambling but if you need any clarification let me
know and I'll give you more detail.
Godspeed Jc
