Robert,
That seems to be a very short clutch life, depending upon what kind of
driving you do. A lot of "power shifts", which gain you nothing, or
clutch pedal riding can do this.
On the other hand, the initial set-up must be such that the throw-out
bearing is not in pressure contact with the clutch, or constant minor
slippage can occur, even with the foot off the pedal. This will shorten
the driven disc life.
The failure of the slave cylinder to completely return may also maintain
pressure on the clutch.
The use of the incorrect clutch type, or poor driven disc is also a
possibility.
If this stuff were easy, the mechanics would be without work, and the
manufacturers would have to lay off workers when demand drops.
