GBM was (and still is) the Isle of Man, although it's not often seen (since its
part of Great Britain).
With a name like that, Marcus may well be one of the Tiger owners in Germany -
not a current Swiss owner.  And the format of the number plate suggests Germany
- two separate groups of alpha characters followed by numeric, in which case the
M will mean Munich - which supports the German bit.
And while I've been typing this, my other half has looked at Cat's Whiskers 54
(STOC mag) which has an article about the 1997 Manx Classic (annual classic race
in the Isle of Man) with a picture of "Markus Steininger from Germany [powering]
round Governors Bridge" in a dark green Tiger (with white hard top and bonnet).
Number plate not discernable in picture.
So, that's the origin of the car and driver - and GBM country identifier.
