There's no problem with the original setup other
than those owners not using the proper tools to
change the filter. Pipe wrenches, adjustable
wrenches, etc. all guarantee rounded nuts, etc.
Its a 1 7/16 socket that fits the large nut on
both the filter end and the engine. The socket
is 3/4 drive so you may want to get a 3/4 to 1/2
adapter is you don't have a 3/4 drive. All this
easily available at Sears.
Use paper towels to stuff around the filter to
catch the oil when you undo the lines. Remember
to fill the filter with oil before installing it.
