As I mentioned in yesterday's message, I also have a gap between the bottom
of the hardtop and the chrome thing on the doorpost. The latch closes, but
the gap remains. The alignment pin is not in the hole, but appears to be
touching. I took another look at my hardtop last night, and I think I
figured out what happened with the doorpost clamps.
At the clamp, the hardtop bottom and the chrome thing on the body seem to
touch, but a couple inches back at the alignment pin, there's a gap. It
looks like one of the previous owners forced the clamps closed without
making sure the pins were aligned with their holes, thereby bending the
hardtop structure in that area. Same thing on both sides.
What do you think, guys? Has anyone else seen this? Can this be fixed with
just a little "cold forming"?
