Alex,
Those are amazing figures, I could get a major horsepower increase by removing
the bolt holding the air cleaner and take it off. A shorter engine life is
nothing much different if power levels of that nature are being used
frequently.
I wonder if you re-calibrated your jets? Maybe the mixture ratio wasn't
correct with the filter on, and was when you increased the air flow??????
