Mario,

I got my water pump from SS about five years ago and I've been very happy 
with it. However, the only thing on it that is cast iron is the impeller. I 
believe you can find a place in the Yellow Pages that will rebuild your 
water pump and that's what I would do in this case. I would also strongly 
urge you to get a Ford Motorsport impeller and have them rebuild it with 
that impeller, not a stamped metal one. The good cast iron ones have  a 
kind of "S" shaped curve to them, which optimizes the operation from idle 
to high rpm (e.g., reduces cavitation). I would call Rick at SS and find 
out from him what the story is on this new cast iron pump he's selling. Oh, 
BTW, I don't think you have a prayer of getting the water pump off without 
removing the radiator. Maybe this would be a good opportunity to have it 
cleaned too.
