Ray,
Try a Carburetor preheater hose part number 96020 by Mighty
Flow ( Motormite Manufacturing). This is an aluminum hose that is
1 1/2" that stretches to 18" maximum. A pair of these does a fine job
of replacing the defoster cardboard hoses. Most any discount auto
parts probably has similar items. Somewhere around $3 or less.
The hose will keep its shape and you can form it by hand.
