Hi Derek
I am in the middle of acquiring the last piece to do this myself.I have a
professionally local built 302 stroker shortblock to finish and install.
You need to keep in mind which year crank you have so you can match up thier
respective pieces.69-82(?) 302 cranks use a 28.8 oz imbalance setup and 82-96
cranks use a 50oz imbalance ,you cannot mix and match the piece between the
two without really bad vibratation.
What you need are three different pieces, and a modified clutch bracket to
fit the new bolt pattern.
You need
1)the block plate that fits between the block and scattershield -keeps
debris out of the flywheel/clutch area(this is the piece that I am now
lacking)
2) the scattershield /clutch cover/bellhousing piece that the trans bolts
onto and joins the trans to the engine.May require the trans to be re-cased
or holes drilled in the bell if you have the smaller bolt pattern"ears" on
your transmission(odds are you do).
3)The clutch fork that holds the throw -out bearing. The 6-bolt setup is just
enough larger that the old one is unusable.
I have more info on this on a zipdisk somwhere.I will send it later if you
like(I saved a bunch of posts relating solutions to this that have worked for
other list members
