With an old style radiator, made out of stuff that can be easily soldered, a
minor fix is easy. If a rock bounces up just right, or if you bump it during
installation, there's guys in almost every town that could solder it up. Now
correct me if I'm wrong, but if you have an aluminum radiator, and one of the
same scenarios occurs, then the fix is much more difficult. Adhesives?
Aluminum welding?
And you are introducing a whole new set of chemistry to your cooling system,
with new corrosion opportunities.
Something to think about.
