My Ford Motorsport Catalog says that the 289/302's were 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8,
while the 351W/C/M and 400's were 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8.  These, of course, do not
change the identification of which cylinder is where.

So, I guess it all depends upon which Ford you are listening too, EH?
