Tim,
The front sump of the 351C pan is 7 3/4" deep. I now have
the pan 7 3/4" deep full length. I couldn't get past all the crap
in my garage to measure the original Tiger II 289 pan, but it appears
to be around 6" or less. The 351C motor mounting height is the same
as the original Tiger, the pan just extends down more. (below the
front cross member a couple of inches). The motor is set back 1 1/4"
but that doesn't have anything to do with ground clearance.
The Tiger can clear 3 1/2" with the added steel dam attached to the
front cross member. This gives an added 1/2" clearance for the oil pan.
I now stay away from speed bumps in malls.
I would love to have a dry sump ( the external kind), but
the cost is more than I can stand.
If you are ever in Palm Bay, Florida I will take you for a ride,
and maybe let you drive it. Remember this is just my daily driver
that I commute in (quickly some times when the traffic clears).
