Thanks to all who sent info on checking the oil level in the gearbox.  
>From the diagram in the owners manual it looked like the plug was on 
top!  Once I found the plug I was able to fill it without having to jack 
up the car.  I've decided the best tool for working on a Tiger would be 
a mechanically inclined six year old.
