Hi all:
Kind of late on the subject of paint but I'm in the middle of having my
Tiger painted.
My artist is using a catalyized urethane primer, sealer, polyester
metalic base coat with a catalyized urethane clear coat over the top.
It seems to be one of the better systems available but of course most of
the work goes into getting the body straight. CAT has some pretty good
tips on picking a painter in the front of the CAT Shop Notes
Supplement. My painter says a dent with this paint could be fixed
easily. The clear coat would still have to be resprayed over the whole
panel but painters scotch brite pad is used to rough up the clear coat
underneath.
Painters and painters who do the high end custom paint do seem to be a
strange lot. Too many paint fumes maybe.
