I remember moving Joe Parlanti's stripped Alpine. There were 4 of us, and it wasn't too bad. Maybe 150 lbs each or so. I think two of us would have had a problem. This reminds me of an incident years ago while I was on active with the Army. I was a platoon leader in an assault float bridge company (you know the guys that build bridges in front of the infantry). One of my troops was gold bricking and went on sick call for a bad foot. He came back with a profile (the term the medics used to indicate a medical condition). The profile said "No lifting over 1500 lb.." We promptly gave him the heaviest thing to go lift. It's amazing what a little typo can do. Still chuckling about that 18 years later. Rob Kempinski |
