Since Norm is having serious computer problems this week, I will take the
liberty of responding on his behalf regarding your interesting post on the
possibility of a Tiger G.T. for sale. You may have already inspected the car
by now. If so, here are a few items to check against what you actually
observed:
The VINs are numbered in the very low B94701XX and B94702XX series. The VIN
tag should be hand stamped (location varies) with the characters G.T. The
first three numbers of a GT JAL tag will be 575. It would be great if you were
also able to get the transmission, rear axle or key numbers, which could then
could be checked against Norman's records to help identify the vehicle in
question.
There are a number of other features unique to the GT cars, especially on the
interior, but none of that really counts for much without the right numbers.
So get what you can, and get them to Norm. And if you're inclined, also post
them to the Tiger list. It would be interesting to know what (if anything)
you've found.
