Gary,

You've overlooked the best conversion possibility.  Converting an Alpine with
the Volvo P1800 running gear.  This was a very good engine that looked British,
but was of Swedish design.  I guess you could call it an ALPO, or maybe a
VOLPINE.  The first name is a dog food.  I like the latter, it sounds vicious.

I know of a beautiful Alpine conversion with a Mazda rotary (Alpda, Mazpine?),
and a very rare conversion of an un-named 50's Alpine with a Svenske engine.
Maybe this one would be an "OldVoPine"?
