Karen, I don't know you, but I join the other Listers in wishing you a
speedy recovery. I know the 20+ messages my wife Susan received from the
List last August when she had her head injury cheered her immensely. May
you recover as quickly and completely as she did! Sometimes, the
recuperative powers of the human body are just amazing...

Well, if we're daydreaming, my top choices might be:
a) 1600 Ford/Lotus twincam, as in Elan/Europa/Cortina. The "big-valve"
version is 126hp, _stock_, and it's British.
b) 1750 Alfa four, just for the exhaust note
c) two Imp fours on a common crankcase; a V8 under 2 liters and an absurd
redline. Bring your earplugs!
