To any who have been there,
Been asked this question by a Ford Sprint 260 owner who wants to add
some zip. He has a stock 260 and is considering a medium rise Edelbrock
and a small 4 barrel (465-500 cfm). He has a set of '64-'65 early 289
stock heads available, as well as his 260 heads, and is concerned about
clearances with the 3.8" bore, and whatever. This is for street use and
maybe with a mild cam. He does not intend any competitive activities.
How large an intake and exhaust valve have you installed on your stock
260 or 289 head that will fit the 260 3.8 inch bore? Any recommendations
for best combinations for street use with small four barrel 260.
He is not looking for a big-bucks answer, just what's a good payback for
the buck.
He does not have a computer, much less a e-mail, so I'll have to relay
any appropriate recommendations.
