Actually, I think that you can get a little better milage and performance=
if you change to a reasonable 4-bbl, vacuum secondary carb like a Holley
650cfm 1850. The first two barrels are a bit smaller than the 2 bbl set-=
up
and the back two are what provides a bit more air to pump when you need i=
t.
A double-pumper (i.e. direct linkage 4bbl with two accell. pumps) would =
be
worse off but great for the drags.
The Tigers are long lagged (2.88 rear end) to give a bit of good milage
when cruising with 13" wheels/tires. The 260 also is a relatively low rp=
m
torque engine so you have enough pull from a stop and the tires let loose=
before you stress the clutch tooooo much.
All in all; a reasonable compromise that can be improved on in both
directions.
