In addition to my '66 Tiger, I have a ground-up restored '62 Corvette. The hardtop lid, because of vibration and movement, marked up the paint. When it was repainted in '95 I got a type of tape from one of the Corvette magazines (I can find out exactly if anyone is interested) It was called a deck or lid protector.
