The British are not just coming -- they're here!
Norm Miller called from Steven Alcala's shop in El Segundo
to tell me that today David Duncanson and Graham Vickery
arrived from England along with their cars. David brought
Tony Eckford's Le Mans coupe, ADU 179B, and David's
ex-factory rally car, AHP 294B. Graham has his Mk II, the
last Tiger produced. Norm tells me that Graham's car has
the unusual color code 109, orchid-green.
David, Graham, Norm, Steven and Dan Walters are working
on getting some or all of these fine cars to "Concours
de Nice" at the Park Mall (in front of the Westin Hotel)
in Costa Mesa. This Concours is being presented by the
Cobra Owners Club Orange County Region, so in addition
to the Tigers there should be a fine collection of
cars to enjoy.
Sunday afternoon at 3 Rosemary Smith & Ian Garrad are due
to arrive at LAX. Rumors are that customs is being very
slow, but hopefully Rosemary & Ian will be able to join
southern California Tiger enthusiasts at the Queen Mary
for dinner and/or drinks. If you would like to join us
at the Queen Mary, we'll be gathering around 5 p.m.
and going to ??.
On Monday the cars will join with a number of enthusiasts
on a procession to Eureka for Tigers United.
Norm has more details on his Tigers United pages. Check out
http://shell3.ba.best.com/~rootes1/queen1.htm for more details
on the drive from the Queen Mary to Eureka.
Come on out and enjoy our visitors and their cars.
