O.K., Sergio,

Your solution of having a good solid ground is certainly unique, as is
the exception of "positive" ground cars. I have had positive grounded
cars (M.G., Jaguar, and some early Alpines), and did not find them
exceptional (unless some jerk tried to jump start me). I am not doubting
the longevity you are claiming for your bulbs, as my '65 MK1 has all the
original bulbs. Only, I don't comprehend your explanation. My
explanation for my exceptional longevity is different. I attribute the
long bulb life to having the good sense to never drive in the dark, and
give hand signals for turns. In that manner they will last a very long
time, as they are hardly ever used. I do have to brake, occasionally,
but I try to keep that to a minimum. "'Tis better to go fast, than to
never have gone at all!"
