Larry,
Per Norm Miller's advice, I recolored a tan console to black using a
spray-on vinyl color. It worked out great. I cleaned the vinyl really
well and then wiped it with MEK (Methyl Ethyl Ketone) before spraying.
Two coats did it. That was at lease three years ago and it still looks
great.
