There's been some talk about Edelbrock carbs recently. I have an Edelbrock
on my 260 MkIA (1966). Does anyone have any experience with having to
frequently re-adjust the mixture, or having to adjust it when the weather
turns suddenly from warm to cold? Here's my problem. Last year, as soon
as the outdoor temperature dropped, my engine went into spasm -- stalling,
chugging, producing black exhaust. I tinkered with points and plugs, and
on a day during a warm week it would cooperate. But eventually it just
wouldn't kick in. I tested the coil, replaced the ballast resistor,
checked the voltages throughout...ultimately I just broke down and changed
the spark plugs, and it ran great all summer and most of the fall. Now,
though, it's doing the same thing...black exhaust, chug, stall...I
re-adjusted the mixture and idle...but there's been no improvement. Now
we're to stall-push-& park...Advice? or does this animal have to hibernate?

Thanks -- Curt.
