"Home Mechanics Warehouse - (PAW)" and one is located at 8372 Topanga
Canyon Blvd just north of Roscoe in Canoga Park (West San Fernando
Valley - Los Angeles) CA 91304. They are open 7 days a week 8:30 am to
7:00 pm M-F, 8:30 am to 6:00 pm Sat-Sun. The retail store manager's name
is Nike and the Ford specialist is Chris. Their catalog is quite
extensive, running 607 pages. The "cost" is $5, but you can pick it up
free at the retail store counter or with any mail order. Their Tech
Service line (for really tech questions is the same 818-998-6000. They
advertise in almost all car magazines specializing in do-it-yourselfers,
such as Hot Rod, Chevy's, Fords, Off-road, Mustang, Corvette, and other
specialty mags. Their prices are quite good with good products and
extensive line, but they are heavier into Chevys than Fords. The Retail
store prices are the same as catalog, except for out-of-state sales tax
issues, and they have a large selection, but not all the cataloged
items. They will get them from the Warehouse in 1 or 2 days, if not the
same day. The Motorsport Filter is on page 431 of the '96 Summer/Fall
catalog and their number FOR-M-6880-A50 for $42.95, but I've been
back-ordered for months, and they expect factory production in the next
few months.
