Hey Paul,
Acording to "the Goose" Jim Fuerstenburg, family style meals at Maggiano's
are normally $40 a plate, so it looks like a $5 subsidy.......I'm not
bitchin' about that. It's the $70 a plate pop for additional guests that
chaps my well worn ass...
I've been dining, on the road, for business, in some of the world's most
expensive cities for 20 years now, and, in addition, do organize a fair
amount of events at hotels, restaurants, convention centers, etc... and
never yet have seen a reasonable explanation for these costs. (Been attacked
personally by you know who for askin' though...).
I look forward to the banquet very much. It's nice to see everyone (except
those that can't afford it) in their best Sunday duds in the off season. I
value the company and friendship of my fellow racers very much... by and
large, a great group of people. This event, along with Fast Eddie's Daytona
500 party in Feb, and the wine & cheese deal at Continental in March, help
pass the winter blues during the non-racing months.
I'm seriously considering a trip to Hallet, OK for the CVAR race in March.
Anyone else interested? How 'bout some of you IA homos makin' a road trip?
Flounder
