Thickos,
As some of you may remember, I had a cracked offset racing spring on my
Bugeye that was toast. Having recently refurbished a pair of original stock
springs borrowed from another car for now. I installed one today, and I'm
guessing that these will cause my car to sit between 1 and 2 inches higher.
This car was pretty low before, though pretty much level. If I'm correct,
I'm going to have a bit of a rake going now. I'm wondering what the racing
crowd does with these quarter eliptic springs to maintain a lower stance.
I've seen some where several leaves are cut short and used pretty much as
shims with only about half of the leaves remaining. I don't really like
this approach, and I'm wondering what other choices I have. Remove every
other leaf? Use half of them with a couple spacer blocks? Suggestions?
Please tell me how you guys do it.
Thanks
Gerard
