Gene,
Whaddayasay list, this guy sounds like a keeper!
I went to a vintage race at the road course next to the new Vegas
speedway, just a couple of months before it opened. It must have been
spring since I was out there attending NAB (National Association of
Broadcasters). It must have been a VARA event.
I saw my buddy Tom Colby there, also a Lotus Super 7 racer by the name
of Bill Thompson (and you guys wonder why I use my middle name for
business?). The track was pretty short, pretty boring, and real flat.
(But then Tom thinks Road America is boring...?). One thing that
disturbed me was the serious lack of corner workers. I was there on a
Friday, I think, so it may have been considered a practise day.
Coolest thing? The Spridget barbecue that someone tows to all their
races.
