I bought 4 American Racing Silverstone Magnesium wheels a long time
ago for $100.
I sold them years later on ebay for around $700.
Someone gave my friend a Triumph TR-3 basket case. He decided he
didn't want to restore it. I listed it on ebay for him and it fetched
$3500.
Buyer drove down from Michigan with a minivan, a tow dolly, and cash.
I list honestly and thoroughly. Sometimes I list things for $1 with
no reserve just to get rid of them. My favorite people are the ones
who buy something for nothing and then complain about it. I sold a
motorcycle headlight/number plate assembly for $1. I had a good
picture in the auction. The new owner complained that is was missing
one headlight and the wire for that headlight. It was obvious in the
picture. I even put "See picture." in the auction wording. I told
him to return it and I'd refund his $1 purchase price but not the $10
shipping. C'mon, man, we're trying to have a civilization here.
