Kevin,
David's right. The G/LG wire goes directly to the coil. There is also
another G/LG at the coil that goes through the ballast resistor wire.
12v to start, lesser voltage to run.
I'm not sure if a 1275 solenoid will work, but a Ford solenoid works
well, is cheaper and more robust.
