I thought I was continuing too much of the off-topic conversation, but
here goes...
My daily driver is in good shape so we can skip it.
My wife's Grand Cherokee has a big power steering leak that I'm trying
to fix. Probably coming out of the pressure line but could be from the
reservoir. It is hard to pry away from her for very long at a time so
it is hard for me to work on it. Also it needs a new front axle shaft
but that is an easy one. I can just about do that one in my sleep. I
did manage to fix her non-functioning lefthand power rearview mirror.
Here electric seat mechanism is partly broken which is a problem because
if I open the door with my key fob it tries to move the seat to my
position but fails partway.
Now as for the LBC, I'm ready to pull the engine out, I just need to
remove the bellhousing bolts and rig my hoist. Once I get the engine
out I'll punch the pistons out and determine if I need a new block or
not. I might need new pistons, and then there are
rings/bearings/gaskets to deal with. The water pump is frozen, the
hoses are beyond gone, maybe the ignition can be resurrected without too
much trouble, and I can only hope I don't have to get into the carbs.
Is that enough car talk? Spring is coming up and hopefully I'll have
some time available to work on the above problems. The next 2 weekends
I've got out of town activities but after that maybe... Here we have
WINTER where it's too cold to work on the car, then a couple of weeks of
nice spring, then SUMMER where it's too hot to work out in the garage.
I have to catch it just right so I have a few reasonable weekends for work.
> Hey, are all your cars working so well that you have nothing else to
> discuss? Amazing!
