I didn't want to say anything, but I ran a Weber DCOE from 2003 to 2008 on my 
vintage race car. I ditched the soft mount almost immediately for a field made 
gasket because of repeated failures and had no problems thereafter. It's on one 
of my street cars where it needs to be used more.
