Sorry Frank<VBG>, just not so!!

HOWEVER, there is only ONE way to do so correctly
(and I have done so quite successfully<G> several times)
and that is do install the specialty-purpose-built 'duct' 
which runs from the ridge to the soffit and allows for 
the MANDATORY air circulation !!!

And NO, Home Defect didn't have it<VBG>!!!

'Course I am not sure how well it would work with
2" x 4" rafters !!!!    LOL
