| So now that it's in the midnight hour of the LBC season in the midwest, hobbies
have turned a little. I'm demo-ing a new home theater sound setup to my 16 yr
old son Bobby tonight. We're watching "Iron Man" and the lead character snaps
at a reporter "my father worked on the Manhattan Project building the atomic
bomb that defeated the Nazis."
My son starts giggling. I ask what's so funny - his comment was "the Nazis
surrendered in May 1945, and the bombs were dropped on Japan 3 months later, so
the bomb wasn't even used on the Nazis."
I read today that elected officials averaged 44% on a US civic knowledge test.
Not in my house ;-)
