Tonight my brother dropped off the finished wood steering wheel for the
Holy Sprite.
Fr Jack stopped by to see his car in paint. He was like a little kid in
a candy store.
Then he saw the steering wheel, grabbed it off the wall and made
vroom-vroom sounds.
He can't wait to drive it.
Today the wheels came back from the media blaster, I powder coated 2 of
them and have them baking right now.
Only 2 fit in the oven at one time.
I also ordered the tires from tire rack and will have them mounted
before the assembly weekend.
I just need a pinion seal and a pair of motor mounts and all *should* be
here and ready to put it together.
I am sure I will be missing something, just too many bits and pieces to
remember all of it but I should be close.
Like tonight I went to install the door check straps, the absolute first
item to go on any Spridget after paint even if temporarily before the
interior panels and I see I never powder coated the metal brackets for
the straps. Apparently none came on the HS so I never saw them in the
box of parts from the disassembly. I am glad I had a few in the door
parts can. They will be dark blue tomorrow and installed before the
doors dent the A posts.
