Tracy,
Try a little harder to think like a stranger in a strange land and you may get
the E Clips to work after all. Have no idea what I meant by that, but felt
the need to acknowledge your lack of grockiness and try to help in some small
way.

So is the recommendation to use circlips? I cannot grock how to get the
"E"
clips on. Jeeeze what a poor fit. I am confident that if I use the
"E"
clips I will bugger up the assembly process. I am missing one thin washer.

There is very likely a thin "C" clip or circlip holding the wheel
cylinder
to the backing plate. It doesn't hold the cylinder as tightly as the
"E"
spring clip does, but then again I can never get the darn e clips to work.
