I have had this happen several times when I was not careful with the line I
was using. Most line now is labeled as Fuel if meant to be used as such.
I've had good luck with NAPA. ...bill in oregon

I put all new fuel hose on the 58 last year when I restored it.
This Spring, that car had serious fuel issues. Black crap in the carbs,
and the filters were filthy.
Now the car had under 1000 miles on it and the tank was clean when I
installed it.
The *new* rubber hose was melting from the inside and clogging
everything up.
Probably chinese rubber as I just bought a few feet from where ever.
Now I use only VW cloth covered 5 mm hose, you don't even need a clamp
on it.
