I found a modern "strap adjuster" that is pretty close to the original ones
used on
the two straps that hold the top to the bows in the stowed position on a Bugeye.

What is nice is the outfit will powder coat them black for a minor fee.
They also carry sheet metal webbing tips (which the original Bugeye straps had)

Cotton webbing is still availible,

I choose instead to go with regular poly, as I had some on hand already.
Others on the list indicated the center strap for the bows was leather. I ended
up using a buckle
from a dog collar and a strip of light color leather.
I sure would like to know what the original buckle looked liked on the leather
strap.
I have no good photos of this.
