David,
Sorry to hear of your sour experience with TireRack.com's personnel. I've
been buying tires from them for just about 18 months, now, and I have been
generally pleased with their service and prices. Of course, a local shop
(owned by a long-time good friend and racing buddy), authorized by them does
all of my tire mounting & balancing.
I agree with your assessment of what cars they'd need, to get a good read on
Sprite/Spridget tire needs. Hopefully some of the guys out that way will
help them (and, thereby, the rest of us) out.
Bud
