This weekend is the local '50's/'60's Show and Shine (about 700 cars usually..)
Mainly
Detroit Iron and tricked out Rice burners... LBC's not usually seen except for
me and
maybe one or two others...
Anyway, every year there there is this crew that arrives the night before at a
local hotel
with a trailer.
In the morning, at about 6:00 am, they drive to the show site, unload the car,
put on the
show wheels,and set it up.
By about 10 am the owner has arrived by plane, sits by the car in his chair
under the
umbrella until the show is over, goes back to the airport and leaves.
The crew then packs up the car and they drive the car to the next show....
He has never won 1st place here!!
But "Best of Show" has been won twice by an older couple who drive to the show
in their
Morris Minor Woody... a beautifully restored and driven car... you can barely
hear the
motor running...
