Sounds like you finally found a legitimate use for one of those
spark-testers. Either you have defective plugs (LOTS of them!), or there is
something about the spark that just ain't right. Have you done a compression
test? Have you tried cranking it over with the sparkplug against the engine?
Are you running points? Have you checked the coil to see whether it expects
a ballast resistor (resistance across the primaries with at least one side
disconnected from the car should read about 3 ohms, if it is around 1.5
ohms, it expects an external ballast)?
