I have my new main harness installed, hooked up a battery charger on 2
amp setting, and proceeded to check out various circuits to see how I
did. The dashboard is NOT installed yet.
Hazard lights - OK
Turn signals - OK
Headlights _ OK
Headlight DIP switch - OK
Headlamp brights - OK
Brake lights - OK
Reverse Lights - (still gotta get under the car)
Wipers - NO
Washer Pump - NO
The problem with the wipers and washers is resolved by clipping a jumper
lead from ground to any of the exposed grounds on the harness, for
example, I simply clipped onto the ground from an instrument bulb. So, I
went looking for ground connections that weren't installed, or not
tight, etc...
The only ground connection from the main harness is under the bonnet at
the right front of the car. It's clean, tight, and has zero resistance.
Checked, verified, added additional jumper to ground - no improvement.
Now I'm thinking the rest of the ground is supplied when the dash is
bolted in, and all the bulb holders are snapped in... I think I will add
a solid ground anyway... Seems like a good idea...
