I got this reply back from Pertronix:
"You may use the Lucas sports coil without using a ballast resistor and you may
also increase the plug gap up to 0.010 above original specifications."
OK, so what is the benefit of increasing the gap?
I came across a warning that the original ignition system may not be up to the
increased voltage - would the weakness be in the Lucas distributor or in the
rotor/plug wires/distributor cap?
I should probably leave the gap at 25 thou and worry about something else but I
can't stop fiddling about.
