I was thinking he mods the wedges and then the next set of shoes are
made properly and the wedges are too big.
I say modify the disposable part.
I did a similar repair on a HK-91 clone rifle that was built out of
spec. I bought it cheap(it wouldn't function), diagnosed the problem
and fixed it by welding a bead in the magazine well area to get
everything to line up properly. I gave it to a friend who has an
implanted defibrillator and has had multiple heart attacks. I though
he'd never shoot it. Now, after several thousand rounds, the rifle is
still working properly. The moral of the story is never underestimate
the value of a properly placed bead of welding.
