What David Lieb said, plus: There is also a spring in the dashpot. The spring and damper fluid work in conjunction with the needle to meter fuel. Spring, oil, and needle should all be balanced for proper fuel ratios. Many different springs, oils, and needles make accurate tuning of the SUs possible. Also, dashpot housings and pistons are matched. Try not to switch the parts between them if you have two. |
