My luck with Crane has been fantastic. Multi hundred thousand miles before
minor problems. I'd vote for them again in a heart beat. It's a lot more
fdiddly to install initially than the Pertronix is. But, so far, many I
know who have used the Pertronix have had early failures and carry an extra
dizzy with them.
I'm sure the 7000 one will easily fill your requirements.
That's my vote.

Thanks, Paul. Help appreciated!
First I need to check if I do not have a problem with the ground braid from
the points plate to the distributor body, as suggested by another lister.
Hopefully that's all that needs fixing. If not, I'll try the Crane ignition!
