Yes you can, I did. Just stuff some towels under the back of the hood, take
out all but one of the bolts on each side. remove the last bolt on one side,
let it rest on the towels. go to the other side do the same. Lower it, then
lift it off being careful not to split your gizzard.
After removing an Impala hood, a Sprite or Midget hood is like a toy.
