Robert,
My wife had a 2002 Outback Sport hatch. Loved it, put 100,000 miles in
4 yrs. (she commutes, A LOT). Never a prob and I had to fight to get
an oil change done on it.* Gave it up by force for a stupid PA law
involving insurance coverage. Can't let it lapse for a single day, or
the state jerks your plates for 90 days.
* Just for clarification, she had a Mazda a while back. 90,000 miles
on the spark plugs before the car wouldn't run, then she changed 'em.
prolly about 25,000 miles before an oil change, she just added when
she could hear the valve clatter. Note that her son totaled the car by
getting hit by a bus. My buddy Reg fixed it and my daughter drove it
for a while after that, before SHE really totaled it (front end, rad
etc all gone, she was not hurt). The car went to the junkers with
240,000 miles on the clock.
Also note that the spark plugs and oil change intervals were before I
ever met her.
