Only problem now is that the clutch engages with only a fraction of an inch
release off the clutch, and the gears don't seem to shift as smoothly as I
would expect. Could this be a symptom of still having air in the clutch lines?
Welcome back David! Could be air in the lines but that would give the pedal a
spongy feel. If the pedal is firm, look for wear/play in the hinge points of
the system. Also check the clutch fork for straightness... I have seen them
bend! If it is bent, the pushrod will be too short. You can lengthen it but
make sure that the fork has clearance to move all the way back when the pedal
is depressed. If it hits the back of the hole in the bellhousing it won't work
any better.
